We are two sisters. Two brothers. And two married couples. Put simply: a large family. In addition to sharing the name, the four of us share work in the vineyard. The fruit of our labour are products that bring us joy – and aim at bringing joy to those who relish drinking them. Be it with or without alcohol. As a non-alcoholic alternative, we produce single-variety grape juices, making sure to offer options for every taste.
Maria and Michael who live and work in Štajerska Slovenija make for one half of Gross & Gross. Their winery and the organically cultivated Vino Gross vineyards are located in Maribor and Haloze, though in Haloze one would need to call them wine terraces. As the area is so steep, terraced cultivation is the only option. What is more, Maria and Michael only gently support the vinification process, merely lending a hand when it is truly needed.
Martina and Johannes, the other half of Gross & Gross, call Nussberg in Ratsch their home. A notable address in South Styria – especially as guests are always welcome here. Preserving tradition, Martina and Johannes tend to the family-owned vineyards in a well-established way, just like generations have done before them. They follow organic-farming practices and are known for mature white wines.
